Nightlight Lithophane
thingiverse
I wanted to try my hand at a Lithophane and I wanted to control the light source. These are the cheap bulbed night lights you can find virtually anywhere. I bought these at Dollar General- I opted for the ones with a switch so I can leave them on even if its somewhat light in the room. The key hear is the Lithophane holder, which I designed from the ground up. I have included two versions to adjust spacing. THe holders are a fairly quick print. The lithophanes Im using are generally under 125x125, mostly around the 90 mark works best. I went with the 3.2mm thickness and I have been using www.ithslitho.com to generate my STL litho files. I also orient my pictures standing up, print at the finest quality available and slow them down a bit. Also a worth note is I print the picture along the Y axis as there is less moving mass and wobble- oh and I use the BRIMto hold it up.
