prusaprinters
To my dear friends and loyal supporters - it's here <3 Bringing the Knuckle Duster back into action for you all, complete with a nice Night Raid logo for my support to the Akamai Ga Kill Team as well as my personal logo. After working with Mech, and tweaking the design fully to ensure optimal specs this is the end product. - Multiple models will be released this being the first of them. Please read everything so I don't have to address stupidity or lack of anyone's ability to follow basic instructions. DESIGN WILL BE UPDATED EVERY DAY I HAVE AVAILIABLE - DON'T PRINT THE DESIGN WITHOUT ADJUSTING THE KNUCKLE SIZE TO YOUR OWN DIMENSIONS - IF YOU DO AND COMMENT SOME NEGATIVE BS “ThEsE DoNt FiT mE” YOU'LL BE REFERED BACK TO THIS EXACT SECTION - THIS IS !!! NOT !!! ONE SIZE FITS ALL FOR THE INTENDED PURPOSES OF THIS PRINT IT'S ESSENTIAL TO SIZE THEM CORRECTLY FOR ---YOU---Note: 2 Options for a .stl and .3mf are listed one in a smaller size one in a larger for those of you who are too lazy to scale the print up lol - once again, NOT ONE SIZE FITS ALL -<3 #LongLiveFossCAD “Night Raids Ultimate Karambit Knuckle Duster” Features:Fully printed 3-D body knuckle duster design and blade modeled after a Karambit style "butter knife" coupled onto a more than effective set of knuckles with some very “non sharp” tips rofl.100% Evades all body scans / and any metal screening devicesNon-Serrated Fine Point Karambit Style Blade (meant for piercing.)Cheap, Practical, and ~REAL~ Self Defense option for those seeking a lightweight extremely concealable option just like the Tanto Design on my other model but much more “effective”..Grip-Friendly and Ergonomic inserts for fingers and STRONG Knuckle support leading into the blade - no more reliance on quarters or another brace to not break your hand if you happen to use this print to punch something at a cosplay event at the bar.Back of the knuckles doubles as a window breaker for any strength car window (post up videos of you breaking some glass - legally please - )Anti-slip and EXTREMELY effective for intended use."Sharpest" blade possible for intense cosplay use / watermelon piercing as I know this is what you'll all be using it for.Convenient print thin enough to take this project on the go with you anywhere you need to feel a bit safer or play around with something cool. (preferably the last option but you do you)Custom Night Raid logo, because who the hell doesn't love Akame Ga Kill? Knife Specs: Blade length: 3.1" Blade width: 0.2" Total length: 7.8" Knuckle Grip width: 0.24" ***** BEFORE CARRYING THIS FOR ANY OTHER REASON THAN TO COSPLAY - ENSURE YOUR PRINTS ARE STRUCTURALLY SOUND WITH A TEST ONE PRINTED TO SEE IF YOUR Z-LEVEL NEEDS CALIBRATED AND PLEASE PRINT WITH PETG OR PLA+ AT ~0.15mm QUALITY~ THIS ENSURES THAT IT WORKS CORRECTLY AND THE TIPS FUNCTION LIKE THEYRE SUPPOSED TO - I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. **** PLEASE NOTE THAT BLADE MAY NOT FIT IN ITS DEFAULT PRINT ORIENTATION WHEN OPENING CERTAIN VERSIONS OF PRUSA SLICER - PRUSA PRINTERS NEED TO CHANGE POSITION OF THE KNIFE TO BE ACROSS THE PLATE HORIZONTALLY OTHERWISE IT WILL REGISTER AS TOO LARGE TO PRINT *** Remember - HOTTER AND SLOWER MAKES FOR A STRONGER BUILD THAN QUICK AND COOL WHEN WORKING WITH ITEMS THAT DEPEND ON LAYER ADHESION TO BE USED IN ANY PRACTICAL SITUATION WHICH IS BEYOND ENCOURAGED 100% INFILL ONLY!!!!! ***Recommended printing settings:Use of Supports: Yes - Paint on with Organic Supports (w/ support enforcers enabled) if you print the model upright instead of how it is displayed in the .3mf and .stl. If printed along the spine of the model use of Auto Generated Grid supports works just fine it will just leave the blade looking a little bit rough on the upper portion and on the Night Raid Logo; where as printing with the blade flat on its side and using organic or grid supports it will definitely not look as clean unless you pump up your bed temp at the end for an easy peel. (see section below too) PRINT ALL BLADES ON BACK SIDE OF KNIFE USING MY GCODE FOR REFINED BLADE SETTINGS (OR TWEAK THEM IF YOU THINK YOUR PRINT CAN COME OUT BETTER SUPPORTS + BRIM FOR BETTER ADHESION WORST LOOK BUT 0% CHANCE OF FAILED PRINT If you use from the bed level please note that your first layer height and perimeters will determine how clean this comes out (IT WILL BE VERY HARD TO PEEL THE SUPPORTS OFF THE G CODE LISTED IF YOU DONT HEAT THAT BED UP AT THE END AND PEEL IT INSTANTLY ONCE DONE PRINTING - THE LONGER YOU WAIT THE ROUGHER THE PRINT WILL LOOK - IF I SEE EVEN ONE COMMENT ABOUT THIS AND YOU DIDN'T LISTEN IM GOING TO REFER YOU BACK TO THIS COMMENT AND ASK YOU TAKE YOUR FEEDBACK ELSEWHERE OR BUY YOU A CHILDRENS BOOK ON LEARNING HOW TO READ - your call lmao) NO BRIM + GRID SUPPORTS FOR CLEAN LOOK ^ GRID WAS USED ON PICTURES ABOVE (~0.1% chance of failed print) NO BRIM + PAINTED ON ORGANIC SUPPORTS FOR CLEANEST LOOK (the failure is on you) Material: Sunlu PLA+ (highly recommend - eSun PLA+also works - PC is the best though. PETG has a harder time getting the fine lines on blade perfectly smooth. Use of Supports: Yes - Bed Supports are encouraged if printing the knife on the opposite side of the Night Raid logo. If printed along the spine of the knuckles (not recommended) use of Auto Generated Grid supports works just fine it will just leave the blade and print looking a little bit rough, where here as printing with the duster upright and using organic or grid supports it will definitely not look as clean but will maintain functionality better than trying to print knuckles down. Optimal Layer height: 0.15mm !*ON QUALITY*! for PLA+ (.3mf and .gcode are in 0.15mm with the .3mf being optimized for Prusa MK3s+ Printers that are well calibrated or factory calibrated) Hot-End Temp: 220-225 for first layer smush and good adhesion if not using brim (not suggested since supports will be enabled) then drop to 210 for the rest of the print, 200 is fine depending on what filament you use Hot-Bed temp: IN BEGINNING FOR FIRST LAYER CREATION AND GOOD SMUSH - 62-65°C *-ESPECIALLY FOR PLA OR PLA+ -* -→ You can use a glue stick here as well and then drop the temp to 60 for the remainder of the print UNLESS using a different filament type than recommended. Infill: 100% Solid Infill this is for cosplay (self defense) after all *DONT NEGLECT THIS*. Parameters: 1+ (4 prints very nice and holds up in tests) see pictures above for what 4 looks like. Makers Note -BEFORE I GET ONE STUPID COMMENT ABOUT HOW IT DOESNT FIT YOUR KNUCKLES THESE ARE DESIGNED TO FIT MOSTLY FEMALE PATRONS NOT THOSE WITH BASKETBALL PLAYER HANDS - IF YOU NEED SIZING ADJUSTMENTS THEN DM ME AND DON'T SIT IN MY COMMENTS COMPLAINING OR ILL REFER YOU TO THIS AND A SYLVIAN LEARN TO READ PROGRAM IN YOUR LOCAL AREA. (Silk PLAs and Cheap PLAs, Nylon blends work different than PLA's in terms of Stringing, ASA is known for shrinking etc etc.)Imaged pictured was done in PLA+ (Sunlu | PLA+ White) and the proceeding images available above will show how all your prints should come out with that gcode file on a well calibrated mk3s+ with all of the filament types from Silk PLA to PETG etc. and its variants. + Official Numbers on the strength test of the different materials in reference to the design. If is is not printed a little hot (optimal temps mentioned above and are in the gcode/.3mf) then you run the risk of an easy break which you sure don't want given the nature of this model. Optimal temperatures to ensure layer adhesion should be raised to just below the point where you're getting stringing if you're looking to optimize the strength of the model. - I will do Prints of the gcode posted with all 7 different strength filaments very soon (weekend of 1/6/24 & 1/13/24) for comparison chart on how they print on same settings with same calibrations on gcode in source using my settings outlined above along with the configuration of the .3mfNight Raid Logo will be printed in a different color when using the gcode - even single extrusion printers can handle this. ********************************Disclaimer: I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR HOW THIS IS USED AS IT IS A PROP (a bit sharp one)PLEASE BE SAFE - DO NOT ASSUME that just because the layering looks good that it won't break! PLEASE TEST ON A SOFT GEL TARGET OR ITEM OF YOUR CHOICE BESIDES ANYTHING LIVING (if it goes through a watermelon / pineapple *which it does*) then you have the correct calibration.*PLEASE KNOW YOUR STATE LAWS BEFORE CARRYING THIS AS SOME STATES DO DEEM BLADE LENGTH AS ANYTHING THEY “DEEM TO BE A KNIFE OR BLADED WEAPON” AND IT CAN OFFSET THE LIMIT OF LEGAL BLADE LIMIT FOR THAT STATE SINCE IT IS A FIXED HANDLE KNIFE. CONSULT STATE/COUNTY/COUNTRY's WEBSITE REGARDING ANY REGULATIONS TOWARDS KNIFES IF YOU WANT TO ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION. ***** PLEASE SCALE DOWN THE .STL AND REPRINT IT IN A LEGAL SIZE ACCORDING TO ANY STATE/FEDERAL/COUNTRY ORDINANCE. ****** AS THIS IS A “MOVIE PROP” THERE SHOULD BE 0 ISSUES ANYWHERE **(HOWEVER USE CHICAGO, IL FOR EXAMPLE - 2.5in blade limit when carrying concealed and must be 18 to even own a knife - while this may be a prop by all arguable standards, misuse of even a prop can result in individual prosecution depending on the nature of its use) - since the blade here is nothing more than thin PLA it would be more than arguable that it's less dangerous than a metal screw driver - however do not take this as any sort of legal advice.Stay Safe and Happy Printing! <3 - NightRaid
