Night light with ldr
thingiverse
This is a simple nightlight that I built using a lithopane from https://tool.itslitho.com/. I created the design by drawing a cartoon of a red panda, my son's favorite animal, and set the frame option to none for a 0.8mm thick panel. To assemble it, you'll need to glue the panel and shade together, taking care with the corners. I used a perfboard to solder all the circuit components, and I already had a 5mm radius LDR on hand. To prevent the LDR from falling inside the shade, I drilled a hole for it and glued a small circle of material from the inside. The LED bulb I used comes from https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32642236592.html, and the circuit design is based on https://electricdiylab.com/ldr-darkness-sensor-circuit/, but I modified R1 for intensity and R2 for light sensitivity to suit my environment. Since my LED bulb requires 12 volts, I used a 12v power source. You'll also need a 12v 1Amps power adapter to complete the project.
