Night Light

myminifactory

I designed this night light for two reasons: to encourage my autistic son to stay in his room at night, and to provide an easy-to-make project that anyone can print with readily available parts. To get started, you'll need 2430mm of LED strip, which I chose to be RGB with a remote control and dimmer function. You can find this on eBay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291... Begin by wrapping the strip around the top of the tube, leaving a small cutout at the bottom for easy insertion. Next, connect the cables inside the tube, insert the IR sensor into its designated hole, and place the dimmer box in the base. Once you've completed these steps, simply snap the components together. The outside cover is printed with gray ABS plastic (I ran out of white) and features 10% infill. This night light's versatility allows it to match any room's decor, making it a great solution beyond just being a nightlight.
