This is a Night Light stand for the Magnemite model by Millhouse_5 at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4771709. It allows you to set a clear printed body on a base and change the colors. The base feature vents at the bottom and top to allow some light airflow and a slip-in aluminum strip to dissipate heat from the lights out the back without the insulation properties of plastic. Note: I printed at scale which is a 100mm ball. I recommend gluing your screw caps on after assembly so you can align the slots to your liking. Materials: 1) Print the stand no supports. I did .15 layer with .4mm nozzle. PETG for higher temp if you can. PLA works fine but heat around light could create soft spots on high white.. or not with the current cooling. It was not a lot of plastic, but it was an 8.5 hour print at .15 for me. There will be some bridging at the very top, but all the ugly should be inside. 2) RF remote as shown. Not a lot of space so getting one close in length would be good. They are likely all very similar in this format. 3) Some scrap aluminum or aluminum from a PAN or something similar to cut a 14mm x 16-18mm. 4) Two sections LED light from a strip. Mine are 5050 LED chips which have three LED's per chip (RGB). They can get hot. Using 3 sections of light was ok, but the bottom of the ball could get warm with colors that require all 3 LED's in the chip to be lit. 2 sections looks good. 5) the LED wire lead was about 48mm. There should be room to stuff a little extra. Make sure you have a wire with the round pin connectors for the controller and the male/male pin connector. Silver eye vs white eye. Without the light the clear print looked better with a silver eye. With the light I preferred the white. Assembly: Print, slip the aluminum into the track in the base from the front. Cutting the lead corners off helps... and be sure to slide into the track at the top back (there is a hook on the front to wedge it under after you are done... if yours reaches that far). Test install your lights... then insert your power cord into the base and tape down your lights starting at the top and working down.
