Nickel Spinner

Nickel Spinner

This weighted top is straightforward to print, robust enough to withstand a moderate amount of abuse, and is calibrated for Canadian nickels (they possess excellent mass and are reasonably priced). I am going to drill a small 1/8 inch hole through the shaft so I can use a pull-cord with my wooden top spinner handle and really get this spinning up! Print Settings Rafts: No rafts will be used. Supports: No supports will be generated. Resolution: The print resolution will be set at .1 millimeters. Infill: The infill percentage will be 100%. Notes: You'll need to use a piece of 1/4 inch dowel for the shaft. I added slots to the nickel holders to make it easier to get the coins in and out. My kids wanted to experiment with different weights at each tip - this made that easier. The first version (shown in the images) did not have these slots.
