In the past, I constructed a PVC tank (200x75x80cm) with steel reinforcement, and it housed an electrolyte solution consisting of NiSO4.6H2O (150-300g/L), NiCl.6H2O (50-100g/L), and H3BO3 (30-50g/L). A 1000Amp rectifier provided power at 36 volts DC, and nickel anodes were placed in titanium baskets connected to the rectifier. The plating process required a well-ventilated environment due to hazardous gases released from the solution.
