Nickel Fidget Spinner

Nickel Fidget Spinner

Nickel Spinner! I'm excited to share my latest creation in Fusion 360 - a fidget spinner that uses three nickels as counter weights instead of multiple bearings. I wanted to simplify the design without sacrificing performance. Design The nickels are securely locked in place with a threaded lock ring, which can be a bit tricky to thread but does work even if you need to snap it into place first. The thumb stud is designed as a screw to avoid any glue. Included You'll find two spinners included - one single spinner that uses one bearing and one stack of nickels, and a dual spinner that uses one bearing and two stacks of nickels. UPDATES 12/14/2016 I've redesigned the double spinner for a sleeker look. I replaced press-fit flared thumbs with threaded flared thumbs, which print threads down but don't touch the supports. The lock ring fits better on the new double spinner. 12/13/2016 I added a streamlined single-spinner design and included "dished" thumb studs that are meant to be printed with supports for added grip. I plan to test them soon to see how they hold up under compression and friction. Print Settings Printer: Monoprice Maker Select v2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 1mm Infill: 70% Notes: Printed on a glass bed at 65°C with PLA at 205°C.
