Nicholas Hawksmoor became one of the leading architects of his generation under the patronage of Sir Christopher Wren. First appointed by Wren as a personal clerk, he was soon trusted with increasingly important commissions. He collaborated with Wren on Kensington Palace and the Royal Navy Hospital in Greenwich, and worked alongside John Vanbrugh on Castle Howard and Blenheim Palace. As an independent architect, Hawksmoor designed Queen's College and All Souls College at Oxford, and many London churches. The bust is attributed to Sir Henry Cheere and is a modern bronze cast of the original from 1736. It is the only known portrait of Nicholas Hawksmoor. The original can be found at All Souls College in Oxford. This object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory.
