Niche Zero Breville 54mm Portafilter Stand
thingiverse
I wanted to be able to grind directly into the portafilter and loved the work joochung had already done on the design. In addition to adapting the design for my Breville, I also added inserts to both the guide and stand to prevent the stand from tipping over while still allowing it to be removed easily. A lip was added to hold the portafilter in place so it wouldn't tip over due to the weight of the handle. This design was created with my standalone portafilter funnel model in mind, so when everything is put together, it should be just as tall as the cup that comes with the Niche Zero. Unfortunately, the shaft on the x axis motor of my Lulzbot snapped before I was able to print a test fit. While it should work, please know that I haven't been able to print and verify it yet, so print at your own risk. Update: After some testing by holding the portafilter up to the chute with the funnel attached, it looks like the grinds will make a mess regardless of the design. From what I can tell, the grounds need to travel further down the path like they do with the cup in order to not make a mess at all.
