The Ngorongoro Crater - Created with extreme precision using high-resolution SRTM data obtained from a Space Shuttle, featuring an impressive 2.55 million facets. The result is stunning, far outweighing any potential file size concerns. It's hard to wait to display this masterpiece above me...I've already accomplished just that! Constructed utilizing a brand new, still unreleased version of SRTM2STL software. The source code for generating files at 3 arcsecond resolution is currently available on github under the liberal GNU license. Simply head to github and look up SRTM2STL to explore more.
