Nezuko is a young girl, not quite two years old, who has been transformed into a demon. Her brother Tanjiro discovered that she had become a demon after being bitten by a demon while he was out searching for their mother's body. Despite her new form, Nezuko still retains some of her human memories and emotions, and Tanjiro continues to care for her and hopes to find a cure to turn her back into a human.
