Nexus 900 RC Glider
thingiverse
I have build a few of this design and flown this glider from Atlawere on the dunes of the coast in The Netherlands, even up to force 6 Beaufort. When trimmed it flies easy and penetrates like a competition glider. The weakest point of the original design is the small transisition between the tailboom and the vertical stab, due to the direction of the print lines. I have split the fuse section in 3 parts instead of 2 and made a combination of normal PLA and the foaming LW-PLA (Colorfabb or 3DLabprint). The lower tail is printed in PLA and the upper parts in low weight. I added a little spar (1,5mm Carbon) to the center wing and wingtip and the whole wing is printed in LW-PLA. All LW pieces are printed seperately, due to the high stringing of the material I also added a little canopy latch for 2 cubic 5 mm magnets. With the original files I had some problems with the fitting of the 3mm carbon spar, so I scaled up the whole plane by 8%. The overall weight with 1s lipo 300mAh, 6 channel lemon rc receiver and 2x Turnigy (D56LV)low voltage servo's is 160 grams For the rest of the information look at the original post of atlaware, which is very complete. Happy soarin'
