Nexus 7 mount (2012) + recharge pins
thingiverse
This mount has space for two pins that will charge the nexus when inserted. You'll need: * An USB cable * A small piece of conductive metal, like a nail or similar. Preferably copper. Iron also works. * Soldering equipment * Wire cutters Proceed by cutting the pieces of metal into two parts, one just a tiny bit longer than the other. About 5-7mm in length. They should stick out about 1mm from the mount. Make sure they can move freely through the holes so they can automatically adjust their height to connect to the tablet. Use wire cutters to cut the USB cable. Find the + (red) and - (black) wires and solder them into one end of each pin. Insert the pins into the mount from the bottom, along with the cable, and secure the lid with a screw. The + pin goes into the hole closest to the edge and screw hole, while the - pin goes into the other hole. If the pins aren't connecting, use a hot pin to adjust the holes slightly. If the print is too wide for your tablet, you can add some tape to thicken one side of the mount, making the tablet slot narrower. Enjoy!
