how to make a digital dash for mx5 miata using a 2012 nexus 7. i have attached both the laser cutting ACAD file, as well as 2 piece STL file for 3D printing, all you need is a nexus 7, 2012/2013. a custom rom for the nexus which allows it to boot up and switch up with the car without having to touch it, if youre running a MS2, you can run a GPS speed module, or you can make a simple circuit to add speed/VSS to your megasquirt 3 or later, If you message me i can guide you though that, i also have files for the custom rom if you need me to upload them. this was an early prototype, it does not have a holder, rather you cut the stock cluster in such a manner that the nexus fits perfectly inside it. fuel gauge stays where it is, or an additional circuit can be built using the schematic attached (taken from Pidashboards website)last but not least you need LED indicators designed for KIT cars, you can use any kind you want. these can be soldered directly to the PCB on the cluster.you will need the paid version of shadowdash, or use MS droid/torque app with this depending on your application.
