Nexus 7 (1st gen) Bike Mount

Nexus 7 (1st gen) Bike Mount

thingiverse

After kicking my winter-ready bike trainer down to the basement from a warm spot in front of the TV, I've come to realize that a mobile entertainment setup is definitely in order. Here's a quick solution: use the handlebar holder for Nexus 7 (1st gen) tablets designed specifically for the bike trainer - just be sure not to use it while riding! The STL files are available for both the left and right holder bars, each positioned diagonally to better fit onto the plate. To avoid warping during the print process, I've included extra material on both ends of each bar - just be sure to cut these off once the printing is complete. When it comes to material selection, I've found ABS to work best (PLA seems a bit too brittle for this particular design). As for compatibility, note that the bike handlebar diameter measures 32mm and requires 6/32 screws, each measuring 1 1/2 long. To assemble the holder properly, dip the nuts into the sockets using a soldering iron. If you're planning to use your Nexus 7 (2nd gen) tablet with this holder, be aware that it's about 10mm thinner than the original Nexus 1st gen.
