Nexus 5x Holder with slots for USB-C and Headphone jack
thingiverse
I created a custom holder for my Nexus 5x, designed with slots at the bottom where I attached a USB-C cable and headphone jack. This allows me to slide in the phone easily while driving, keeping it charged and connected to aux input. The holder is connected to a magnetic rotational mount that enables landscape or portrait use. You can check out this specific mount on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:685687 This mount is then attached to another bracket that I stick into the CD slot of my Honda Fit. Unfortunately, I don't have the files for that bracket yet, but similar designs are available on Thingiverse from other creators. The holder fits snugly against the phone's back surface, just a few millimeters below the volume buttons, making it easy to access all features like the fingerprint scanner and rear camera. After printing, you may need to do some light filing or sanding to smooth out any rough edges that could scratch the phone. I've been using my ABS-printed holder with a black Nexus 5x for several days now, and I haven't seen any scratches on the device yet.
