This is a wall mounting case for a Nextion 3.5" LCD touch display combined with a Wemos D1 Mini (ESP8266) board to control it. The Nextion display gets secured by four small screws - I grabbed some random ones lying around, sorry no specs available. Meanwhile the Wemos board simply clips into place. There are openings for connecting a USB cable to the Wemos for programming and power supply as well as one for inserting a micro SD card into the Nextion display for uploading the GUI. The bottom of the case can be mounted on a wall using two screws while the top just slides onto it. Two areas close to the Wemos are printed thinner than the rest, intended for fixing two LEDs to show important status information like icy road warnings, though I haven't implemented this yet. I'm using this setup to have an always-on display showing me current time pulled from ntp, internet-based weather conditions and forecast including values graphics and text, current readings of four local temperature/humidity sensors via my FHEM home control as well as status updates on some switches etc. The switches can be touched to change light settings and also reflect changes made through other means like timers in FHEM or remote controllers I'm using. In addition to the home screen two more screens can be selected by touching buttons at the top corners, one showing temperature history of local sensors over the last 24 hours and the other with more home automation controls.
