NexGen-3D: RE-BOSE Horn Loaded Transmission Line Speakers
prusaprinters
Update: Just added some alternative feet for those that would like to angle the speakers back, also added 2 mock-up 3D files so you can see the entire model in the 3D viewerI had some damaged BOSE Double Cube speakers kicking about, so I though I would put them to some use.You can make 1 Pair of desktop speakers from just 1 double cube speaker, and each on their own will sound much louder with a wider bass range than the original with its dual drivers. You will need the following to make 1 pair of speakers:24 x 5mm x 2mm magnets (For the grills)2 x XT30 connectors1 bottle of Adhesive (Super Glue or Epoxy or Silicone)8 x M3 Threaded Inserts (For Feet)8 x m3 x 6 or 8mm Button Head Screws (For Feet)1 x Bose Double Cube Speaker (Make sure its like the one pictured) Please note, this mod is for the more modern Bose Double Cube, not the Redline type or the very old original ones, as they use a completely different driver, the one in the modern double cube does not have any screw holes and has a large composite frame (Picture added)I printed these from Pro PLA with Carbon Fibre and they have come out excellent, sound quality is far better with a much further extended base range, these are perfectly acceptable on their own and do not require a subwoofer, bass response is solid down 120hz and then starts to roll off, you will find these also put out a lot more volume with less power and sound very clean compared with the original speaker setup.I printed with 0.6 Nozzle, 0.3mm layer Height, 1.8mm Wall Thickness and 1.2mm top/bottom thickness with 50% infill.Feet should be printed from TPU, and the angled skids should be printed in PLA or better.
