Newton's Cradle

A Newton's cradle is a display of energy conservation, featuring swinging spheres that transfer force and momentum among one another. The device, named after Sir Isaac Newton, demonstrates elastic collisions and is known as Newton's balls or Executive Ball Clicker. The coefficient of restitution (COR) gauges the collision's energy loss, ranging from 0 to 1 for inelastic to elastic collisions respectively. If COR<1, motion will diminish over time; at COR=1, it remains undamped. Observe these scenarios in the following YouTube videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL6meBb13X8 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-eosa5pr-0; STEP and IGS files are also available.
