New Zealand bathymetry and topography.
thingiverse
A heightmap of New Zealand and its submerged continental fragment Zealandia showcases a vast expanse of underwater terrain. The data originates from the NIWA bathymetry map, accessible here: https://www.niwa.co.nz/our-science/oceans/bathymetry. To accommodate file size constraints, I reduced the original dataset significantly, resulting in blurred mountainous features above sea level. To compensate for this loss of definition, I integrated a separate heightmap of New Zealand, sourced from https://www.reddit.com/r/newzealand/comments/1c170r/grayscale_altitude_map_of_nz/?st=ir01jpe1&sh=655789be. For OpenSCAD users: due to complications with Thingiverse's image download functionality, I've included a .obj file as a workaround. Note that this file is actually a renamed PNG and will not produce a 3D model. To rectify this issue, simply rename the .obj file with a .png suffix before compiling from the .scad file.
With this file you will be able to print New Zealand bathymetry and topography. with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on New Zealand bathymetry and topography..
