Wood Diorama of London Theme/Subject STEAM 21st Century Skills History Social Studies Topography Geography Social Science Project Description The 6th Grade Students Were Asked to Create Presentations on Their iPad Devices During the English Lesson. The Project Topic Was to Select the Most Popular English Monuments and Prepare Presentations, Which They Would Later Present in Class. Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, the Statue of Nelson, Admiralty Arch, and the Houses of Parliament Were Chosen. Stage 1 - Create a Diorama We Created a Diorama of London on a Chipboard. The Pupils Were Divided into Groups and Used the SketchUp Programme to Design the Monuments at an Accurate Scale Matching the Diorama's Scale. Stage 2 - Create 3D Monument Next, We Printed the Monuments Using Our School's 3D Printer. Once All Models Were Created, Each Group Coloured Their Model to Match the Real Ones by Referencing Photos on the Internet. Stage 3 - Create Presentation Each Group Prepared a Presentation Focusing on Their Selected Monument. They Researched Information Online and Created Presentations Using Keynote as Previously Taught in Class. Stage 4 - Presentations The Final Step Was to Share the Presentations with Classmates.
