New Train track for OS-Railway - fully 3D-printable railway system!
thingiverse
Here is a set of brand new track parts specifically designed for the OS-Railway system, offering a more scale-like experience while still maintaining compatibility with the classic track system. The turnouts have been completely revamped, adopting a novel design that bends the track instead of relying on free-rotating track components. The radius has also been expanded, providing a wider curvature than its predecessor. For secure attachment, screw holes are conveniently provided for M2 screws; however, caution is advised when gluing the swing-track parts - only apply adhesive where the screw holes are located to ensure the bending pieces remain freely movable. The prints showcased in the accompanying images were produced using a filament swap at 3mm height, leveraging the filament swap option within Prusa Slicer. This feature proves invaluable as it allows for seamless filament changes without interrupting the printing process. Currently available tracks include: Straight sections measuring 100mm and 200mm Curves with a 300mm radius, available in 15 and 30-degree configurations Curves with a 400mm radius, also offered in 15 and 30-degree variants Curves with a 500mm radius, available in both 15 and 30-degree settings - note that the 30-degree version is exceptionally long and only just fits diagonally on the Prusa MK3s print bed. A Curve 600mm part with a 15-degree angle is also included; this particular design was implemented due to space constraints, as the 30-degree variant would be too lengthy for most printers. The 15-degree Cross track piece is specifically designed to fit between four turnouts, allowing two 100mm straight sections to be perfectly aligned between the outer tracks. Although not strictly necessary, this is the intended purpose behind its length.
