New Reed Valve Design for Respirator

I'm designing a new reed valve for respirators that could also attach to R95 masks. I experimented with using an inner tube from a 10-speed bike as the valve itself, but it was too stiff - next up is trying rubber from dishwashing gloves when I can get my hands on some. The blue disposable glove material seems a bit too thin. I think contact cement would be a great adhesive for attaching this new design to the mask.
