New Orleans Takes Shape in 3D Printing Marvel In a groundbreaking achievement, the city of New Orleans has been meticulously recreated in three dimensions through cutting-edge 3D printing technology. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' 2012 Lidar Survey provides the foundation for this extraordinary model, capturing the intricate topography of the city with unprecedented precision. Using GRASS GIS and Python as their primary tools, Brendan Harmon and Hye Yeon Nam worked tirelessly to bring New Orleans into existence in a digital format.
