New Improved Female Blade Guard Receiver

New Improved Female Blade Guard Receiver

I was thrilled to discover Buster's removable prop guards. Researching these guards became an urgent priority after my Phantom 1.1.1 crashed, damaging its 9" DJI 9443 propellers. I wanted to store my drone safely in a large plastic IKEA box, but larger prop guards made that impossible. Unfortunately, the crash also broke those guards, so I began searching specifically for removable guards. That's when I found Buster's upload. However, upon printing it out, I noticed the female receiver end at the back and two supports were surprisingly thin - almost like toothpicks. I suspected these would break eventually, which they did - three of four broke before my drone even took to the skies. Possibly using PLA as the print material was the problem, and ABS might have yielded a stronger result. However, I wanted an even beefier receiver, so I made some adjustments to strengthen it. My changes paid off: the supports are now much more robust and no longer crack when inserting the prop guards.
