Pluto's Best Friend Takes Flight: Meet NewHorizons, the Latest Spacecraft from My Series of 3DPrinter-Ready Designs. Now on a Mission to Explore Kuiper Belt Object 2014 MU69 Beyond Pluto's Orbit. Get Ready to Print Your Own Personal Craft and Join Me for the Next Phase of Its Adventure - the Dec31, 2018 Flyby of Ultima Thule, an Enigmatic Object Hidden in the Kuiper Belt Way Out Beyond Pluto. While Most Space Probes Pose a Challenge to 3Dprint Due to Their Complex Shapes, My Design Breaks Them Down into Manageable Parts. Simply Split the Body in Half and You're Ready to Assemble Your Very Own NewHorizons on Your Printer Bed - All It Takes Are Two Pegs for Alignment. My Top Priority is Making These Spacecraft Printable Without Supports, Which Can Leave a Rough Finish on Even the Best Printers. However, If You Have a High-Quality Printer, Feel Free to Add Supports for the Trickiest Parts Like the High Gain Antenna Dish. In My Case, I Had to Use Concentric Supports Below the Object, but the Resulting Roughness Stays Out of View. The Two Assembly Pegs and RTG (Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator) Components Print as a Single Group, Making It Easy to Assemble Your NewHorizons Spacecraft. Check Out Some of My Other Popular Designs on Thingiverse - Including the OSIRIS-REx, Cassini with Removable Huygens Probe, and Sputnik on a Stand.
