NEW!! FLSUN QQ-S PRO DIRECT-DRIVE HOTEND SETUP ================================================================ Including The Sherpa Mini + Stock Hotend + Stock Levelprobe + ADXL345 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I designed a new hotend mount for the Flsun QQ-S Pro, which provides the stock hotend setup in combination with [sherpa mini extruder](https://github.com/Annex-Engineering/Sherpa_Mini-Extruder/ "github Annex-Engineering/Sherpa_Mini-Extruder") as direct-drive. ###Main reasons for this new design: > - most other custom direct-drive hotend designs for QQ-S are made for the Orbiter > - relocating the extruder + stepper above and the hotend underneath the effector ,greatly reduces shaking of the moving mass and allow for higher speeds without ringing (tested 18mm³/s max. hotend flowrate @ 4k Acc see pictures) > - stock level probe is included (almost :D , because holes are attached, but i have to use a nut underneath as a additional spacer - see pic - You could print one or do it the same way) > - complete Setup with direct-drive stepper + hotend is around 250-260g > - i don´t like those to filigree and complicated effector designs, as those will generate more and more possible errors. This one is easy to print without warping.. Thats why i designed flat connection spots and a overall screw joint design. ### For this Setup you need > - 10pcs M3 - threaded inserts (same as recommended for the sherpa build - M3x5x4, but shorter should work as well) personally i put the inserts which are attached to the rods without heat, by pressing each two parallel with a vice - this provides that the inserts are aligned (see picture). Afterwards i cut the thread again through the effector. > - 3 pcs M3 Nuts > - a Set of small screws (3pcs M3x8 Hotend / effector + 2pcs M3x10 Sherpa Mini / Effector + 2pcs M3x16 Hotend Clamp / Mount) Like i said i have tested the setup and think it´s pretty good (and snug fit), but if you have something to change or some major errors please leave a comment. I also added some remixed fan ducts, which are just a mix of two existing models - they are working but that´s it. Hope someone could help here and design some nicer ducts? For sure this Setup will reduce your total printing height and change z-offset. So your first step should be a homing sequence, measuring your height and change in your settings.
