New BIBO Dual Extruder Drive Block Upgrade
thingiverse
I've had my fair share of issues with under-extrusion and overall poor performance from the extruder mechanism on this iPrintner. I decided to take matters into my own hands, following other users' suggestions, and designed a spring-loaded Extruder Drive Block Upgrade that has been performing flawlessly. To assemble each side, you'll need one of the following: * An 8mm M3 flat head countersunk bolt * A 16mm M3 flat head countersunk bolt * A 20mm M3 flat head countersunk bolt * A 0.36" OD, 0.042" wire size, 0.69" free length spring with a compression rating of 28.32 lbs/in You can find all the necessary hardware on Amazon or at most big-box hardware stores. This upgrade has worked seamlessly with PLA, ABS, and Polymaker PC-MAX. Update (03/10/2020): I've replaced all the models with the latest version, which now allows you to adjust tension without removing the extruder from the carriage. You'll also find a spot for a captured M3 nut inside the tension adjustment area.
