Adhering to EN12663, EN61373, Alstom Standard ENG-STD-003, and EN 45545-2 (R7 HL2 requirement), the new design significantly reduces weight from 282.5 kg per support set to 84.56 kg while maintaining strength. This also leads to a cost reduction of approximately $400 per support set, now priced at around $1450 each. The new design features aluminum 6061 T6 for ease of work and 100% extrusionability. Periodic inspections should be incorporated in the carbody inspection manual to ensure structure integrity. To save costs, most existing hardware (screws, nuts, washers, etc.) was reused. CATIA V5R21 was used for part simulation, ensuring minimal stress and displacement.
