**About This Block** This block is a highly effective extruder designed to lock down filament from the moment it touches the drive gear until it emerges from the hot end. As a result, it can successfully extrude both standard and flexible filaments at high speeds. The use of four M3x0.5x45mm Screws eliminates the need for adjustable springs, relying instead on the controlled pressure exerted by the 608ZZ Bearing. This design works seamlessly at both high and low speeds while providing an exceptionally secure filament grip. **Materials Required** Printed: * Upper Block * Lower Block * Axle Purchased: * Mk8 5mm ID 8mm OD Hobbed Gear * 608ZZ bearing * 4x M3x0.5x30mm Screws * 4x M3x0.5x50mm Screws * 4x M3 Nuts * 1-2 Pneumatic 10mm OD Bowden Adapters **Printing Instructions** Print at your usual "quality" speeds without supports for V3.5 and with supports for V4. This block works best when printed with a 25% infill, three shells, three upper layers, and three bottom layers. **Assembly Instructions** 1. Mount the 608ZZ bearing onto the axle. 2. Insert the axle into the slot in the upper block. 3. Attach the Mk8 Gear to the shaft of the Nema 17 Stepper by slightly tightening the set screw. 4. Secure the lower block to the Nema 17 motor using the M3x0.5x30 screws through the front-facing holes. 5. Position the Mk8 Gear so that its teeth align with the Filament Channel and tighten the set screw(s). 6. Place the upper block assembly into the lower block, ensuring the bearing fits snugly in the groove facing down onto the lower block. 7. Insert the M3 50mm Screws from the upper block through the entire assembly, fastening them with M3 nuts on the other end. Do not tighten before threading filament through the drive. Now that your block is fully assembled, begin by threading the filament through so you can see it emerge from the hot end. As the gear turns, tighten the long screws around the top of the block until the filament starts moving. Tighten all screws to this tension and give them one or two additional complete revolutions to ensure proper extrusion. Flexible filaments may require more revolutions for optimal results. At this point, you're ready to start printing.
