Neuschwanstein Castle, meaning 'new swan stone,' is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace perched on a steep hill above Hohenschwangau village, southwest Bavaria, Germany. Commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as his personal retreat and an homage to Richard Wagner, the castle was financed from Ludwig's fortune and loans, not public funds. After Ludwig's death in 1886, the palace was opened to paying visitors; since then, over 60 million people have toured it. Annually, more than 1.3 million visit, with up to 6,000 daily in summer. Neuschwanstein has featured prominently in movies and served as inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle and similar structures. This DAZ Studio prop boasts 49,281 polygons and includes brick and stone textures along with corresponding bump maps. However, texture maps may appear pixelated when viewed up close.
