A neuron cell model was created specifically for a psychology professor at McHenry County College, who needed a tactile model that a blind student could easily grasp. The final model measures about 9 inches long, as this is the maximum size that can be printed on the Makerbot Replicator 5th generation printer. The model had to be this large due to the small diameter of some of its parts. The professor requested that it remain attached to its supports for easier transport in a backpack.
