The Token Ring Topology Description: Every node is connected to each other in a closed loop, with a token traveling through each one, carrying data along the way. Advantages: This type of network topology is very well-organized. Each node gets to send its data when it receives an empty token, greatly reducing the chances of collision. In a token ring topology, all traffic flows in one direction at extremely high speeds. Disadvantages: Each packet of data must pass through every single node between the source and destination, making it slower than a star topology.
