This design effectively protects Netatmo's Outdoor sensor from overheating due to intense sun radiation. To test its efficacy, I simultaneously placed two sensors - one outdoor and one indoor - in direct sunlight. The outdoor unit was shielded by this design, while the other was left exposed. The temperature difference between the two units was approximately 4 degrees Celsius. Notably, the shielded sensor consistently provided readings within a 1-degree Celsius margin of error, mirroring official measurements from various online weather services.
