This is a versatile attachment that can be fitted onto screws used in constructing Refugee Housing Units (RHUs) by the IKEA Foundation. Developed by Core Relief workshop participants, www.corerelief.org, this hook enables visitors at hospitality camps to secure nets and tarps for shade without damaging RHUs or creating fire hazards. The design proposes a standardized item that can be manufactured along with other RHU components. It also includes an urban plan featuring various layouts (different layouts.max) to maximize comfort through strategic shading placement while minimizing fire risks. Although the design is not yet complete, it serves as a starting point for improvement towards mass production. Post-printing processes include sanding away support structures added to facilitate smooth printing and eliminate reliance on printer or slicer features. To accommodate tarpaulin rings, the hook's dimensions were carefully designed. A separate closed design was also created to fit nets securely in place. This hook offers a practical solution by allowing visitors to attach nets and tarps for shade without compromising RHU integrity or fire safety.
