## ## Nestor ### Interlocking puzzle by Alfons Eyckmans Assemble the six pieces into the shape shown in the cover photo. _Nestor_ is a ''grooved'' burr puzzle by the incredibly prolific Alfons Eyckmans, in which each piece has one or more protrusions that slide along rivets in the orthogonal pieces. It can be quite a challenge to assemble, and you will definitely want to use the BurrTools software to assemble it. I've included the xmpuzzle file (eyckmans.nestor.xmpuzzle) to help with this. This is not a beginner puzzle, and I found it tricky to assemble even with BurrTools. If you're new to this type of puzzle, I suggest starting with some of the recommendations on the Printable Puzzle Project page (linked below). ### Printing Instructions This puzzle is incredibly easy to print; just print one copy each of `eyckmans.nestor.pieces-1` through `eyckmans.nestor.pieces-3` in three contrasting colors. His designs range from moderately challenging to truly gargantuan, often requiring dozens of moves to remove the first piece. Many of his designs incorporate unusual geometric shapes or figurative elements, such as his "Burr Zoo" series of puzzles featuring animal shapes. Eyckmans's puzzles are for experienced puzzle solvers (you have been warned!), but patience will be rewarded as they reveal their creative and fascinating structure. Happy puzzling!
