I recently purchased a Nest Thermostat E to upgrade my outdated old thermostat, and I was pleased to receive a nice cover plate to conceal the old unit's mounting location. However, when I applied it, I noticed that the plate didn't fit the available space properly, leaving an unsightly gap where the paint had been stripped off. This led me to design a custom-made replacement plate.
