I was unable to install my Nest thermostat in my new home due to a gaping hole that was far too big to fill. To overcome this hurdle, I creatively reworked the back plate of the thermostat so it could be securely screwed into place against the wall, allowing me to then attach the Nest thermostat directly to the custom plate using screws. The F3d file is included for anyone who needs to make adjustments or modifications to suit their specific situation.
