Want to recycle aluminium and grounds from your Nespresso machine. Recycling is a great idea. Yes, any traditional Nespresso compatible aluminium capsule works perfectly. You can use either the long body or ultra compact body model. To start recycling, you'll need to print several parts: Body (3 options), Pusher (2 options), Pusher Top, and Pusher Base. You can also choose to include the grounds receptical and drawer. The Pusher is made of 3 parts that fit together easily without glue, but you can use super glue if needed for extra security. Here's how to recycle your capsule: Insert the capsule, coloured side up, into the body. Place the pusher down on top of the capsule in the body. Push down firmly on the pusher while holding the body. There will be some resistance at first, but it will eventually give way and continue pushing until all grounds are out. If you're using the compact body without space for grounds, make sure to lift the bottom before pushing down to avoid getting stuck. You can use the grounds receptical and drawer instead. Remove the pusher and turn the body upside down to push out the empty capsule. Repeat the process... To make recycling easier, consider cutting an X in the base of the capsule where coffee comes out. This will help the grounds come out smoothly. It's also a good idea to wait until the grounds are dry or at least less wet before recycling.
