Nespress Virtuoline refiller crimper
thingiverse
The concept of refilling the Nespresso Virtuoline capsules is simple, and this tool just makes it easy to do and harder to do wrong. Remove the foil/plastic top from a spent Nespresso Virtuo capsule and clean out the grounds. The Cylinder Tool holds the capsule while you fill it with FINELY GROUND COFFEE. Only very fine grind will produce crema like the original capsules. Use the handle of the Top Tool to tamp the ground coffee into the capsule. Fill and tamp the coffee in the capsule until the capsule is full. Use a double layer of aluminum foil as a top for the capsule. I tear a strip from a roll of aluminum foil about 4 inches wide, then tear the strip in half, and then fold each resultant piece in half as capsule tops. Place the double foil layer over the filled capsule and use the Top Tool to crimp the foil to the top of the capsule. Then, with the top tool still on the capsule, tear away the excess foil. The foil need not be folded around the bottom of the capsule rim as the Nespresso machine tightly presses the top of the capsule, holding the foil in place. Also, the foil cannot obscure the underside of the capsule rim as it is bar-coded. Then machine will show an error if it can't read the bar code on the capsule. I printed the Top Tool and handle/tamper separately and glued them together using Krazy Glue.
