The standard 30mm fan produced a deafening roar akin to a jet engine, making it unbearable for me to tolerate any longer. To address this issue, I designed a modification to upgrade the cooling system in my NESpi case from a 30mm to a 40mm fan. Given that the pi can only supply 5v to the fan, I highly recommend purchasing the Noctua 5v 40mm fan for optimal performance. This adapter necessitates minor adjustments within the NESpi case to ensure a proper fit; using a scalpel, it took me just five minutes to carefully cut away the plastic tabs. Once the plastic is severed, you'll need to cut the screws that accompany the sock fan in half to prevent them from scratching the top of the NESpi case during installation. With the necessary adjustments made and the screws trimmed, this upgrade becomes a straightforward process.
