This is the foundation stone for a mummy named Nesiur, currently on display at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in Dayton, Ohio. The sarcophagus was meticulously scanned with a high-tech Go!Scan 50 at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery itself. According to Jill E. Krieg-Accrocco, Curator of Anthropology and Exhibitions, Nesiur's excavation uncovered by H.E. Winlock of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York back in 1922 took place at the Deir el-Bahari site in western Thebes. Deir el-Bahari is a region renowned for its mortuary temples and tombs situated along the west bank of the Nile River. Nesiur's burial chamber was discovered within a brick chapel, where her coffin and distinctive mummification style indicate that she lived during the 25th Dynasty (circa 700 BC). She was kindly donated to the Museum in 1926. A special thanks goes out to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery for their cooperation.
