NES to Famicom Controller Adapter Enclosure
thingiverse
I got a Famicom and I needed a controller adapter for the NES controllers and Zapper. I saw the Twin Diamond design and I thought it was great but then I started pricing the pins for it and the cost was just way too high. Then I found a design similar to this one that used third party controller ports but I could never track down an STL. So I designed this one. It uses the original controller ports and faceplate from an NES console (because I had an old busted one on hand) so any accessories for the NES will be able to be plugged in. Not all games and accessories will work on the Famicom with an adapter like this so do some research on that if you need to. I should note, I'm not great at designing stuff and I wish someone else had already done it because they would have done a much better job than me, but this works, it's pretty solid, and it looks alright. I drilled the holes for the screws after printing because I didn't trust my ability to get them to line up. The screws on the bottom are the original ones from the NES because they're the right size for the faceplate that's also from the NES. The back/top has an inset for an M2 size screw. You'll need a NeoGeo 15 pin cable, I got one for cheap from AliExpress. I used some little zip ties for strain relief and shoved one longways through the hole the cord goes through to keep it from spinning. I wired up the adapter following this diagram: https://retrogames.cl/imagenes/proyectos/twinhead/esquematico.jpg Make sure you remember that the 15 pin port in the image is like you're looking at the port on the console.
