Neurons, also known as nerve cells, are electrically excitable cells that convey information through electrical and chemical signals. These signals transpire via synapses, which are specialized connections with other cells. Neurons interlink to form neural networks and are the basic units of the brain, spinal cord (CNS), and ganglia in the peripheral nervous system (PNS). A neuron typically encompasses a cell body (soma), dendrites, and an axon. Dendrites, thin structures that arise from the cell body and can extend for hundreds of micrometres, forming an intricate dendritic tree. The axon, also called a nerve fiber when myelinated, is a specialized cellular extension emanating from the cell body at the axon hillock. A model showcasing neurons and pathways includes parts for different sections of these structures. Despite this, the version lacks rigging. The model exhibits basic UV mapping but doesn't include textures. This model is fully licensed for use in games and applications.
