Nerf Stryfe 18650 Battery Holder

thingiverse

Holder for 18650 batteries for the Nerf Stryfe. Disclaimer: Don't even think about shorting out Li-Ion batteries - they'll quickly teach you a lesson. And don't leave AA batteries in their tray when using 18650s in this holder unless you like surprises. I had some spare 18650 batteries on hand and wanted to give the Stryfe a voltage boost (8.4v with two 18650s vs 6v with AA Alkalines, or even 4.8v with rechargables) without messing around with soldering or extra screws. This design does the trick - you just need one printed piece, two 18650 batteries, and about 6" of wire (I used car wire because I had it handy). And since you already own the Stryfe, just reuse that screw from the stock battery cover. I borrowed a few ideas from Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1351511 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:195543), chopped them up, added some holes and chamfers, and combined them to make this holder. Big thanks to jelrebel (who remixed a design by ssaggers) and anode505 for their designs. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Infill: 30%
