Nerf Phoenix LTX Battery Holder/Tray/Box
thingiverse
This is the battery holder/tray/box for the Nerf Phoenix LTX tagger. It's a two-part print that needs to be laid down flat on its back before printing, so you can avoid cleaning up support structures later. The "front" may require a small support structure to hold up the little tab that keeps the battery cover from fitting on backward. I printed them with an adhesion plate to keep them from breaking loose from the print bed prematurely. Once the two halves are printed, they need to be glued back-to-back, making sure the cutouts for the springs line up next to each other and the small hole in the back of each one aligns. Super glue works well on PLA and sets up quickly, in about 5 seconds, but you'll need to get it lined up right or you'll be printing a second set. To complete this build, you'll also need seven "AA Battery Positive Negative Conversion Spring Contact Plates," which hold the batteries in place; they're shown in some of the pictures. A small amount of hot glue will help keep them secure. Only one battery polarity is marked on each piece, so be sure to get the contact plates and batteries installed correctly by comparing them carefully with the original. If you install them backward, you'll likely damage your tagger. You can also cut down one of the AA plates to create a piece that will come out the side of the front piece, which will reduce the voltage to 4.5v instead of using the full 9v from the pack. I've successfully tested this and it works as expected. AA Battery Plates are available on Amazon at http://amzn.to/2Cd09ZC.
