Nerf N-Strike Laser Sight LiPo Mod
thingiverse
I have modified the Nerf N-Strike Laser Sight that comes in the Recon CS-6 set, so that it no longer uses 2 AAA batteries but instead houses a rechargeable LiPo 1S battery and a USB-C charge manager board. USB-C Charge Manager: (TP4056 5V 1A USB C Board) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08KWD643H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 LiPo Battery: (3.7V 1100mAh) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08FD39Y5R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 At the time of building parts cost £7.26 per modified sight, plus a few meters of filament. The parts are snap fit into the original parts in most cases, but reuse all the original hardware so they can still be screwed into place. The original switch is reused but moved onto the mount in the 'MainBodyCoverPanel', the original mount for the switch will need to be cut out with side cutters to allow the LiPo to fit. There is enough room for a standard size/shape 1S LiPo to fit and still have full functionality of the slide that operates the adjustable spot size. There are holes in the top of the unit for the charger indicator lights (red = charging, green = fully charged), on different boards these may not line up and be visible, similarly different port types may not fit the opening. The old battery housing will need to be cut off and soldered to the charge board supply contacts (I used JST-XH connectors instead of permanently soldering things together) and the battery connected to the battery contacts.
