Nerf Magazine Extender

Nerf Magazine Extender

thingiverse

This is an extension piece designed to complement Illis' Nerf Magazine, available on Thingiverse as http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:152647. The extender features two flanged ends that allow you to bolt it between the top and bottom parts of Illis' magazine. You can add multiple pieces if you have sufficient spring length. Individuals with hobby-grade printers like myself often struggle to achieve the necessary Z-height for printing SCHEMENKE's larger magazines, such as http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1131004. However, I do use SCHEMENKE's Slider v2 with success. A photograph of my extender piece shows it positioned between the components of Illis' design. The spring used is taken from an off-brand 12-dart magazine that I had previously broken. I encourage users to post photos of their printed versions, as it allows me to see how different print settings affect my designs and learn new techniques. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.28mm for speed Infill: 20% Notes: Prints well upright without support on my printer. However, a 0.28mm resolution may be too coarse for the slider part, resulting in a slightly rougher operation. To improve this, I plan to print the slider at 0.08mm resolution next time. This will ensure smoother performance and prevent potential mag jams, especially during high-pressure situations like zombie apocalypses.
