Nerf MA40 Half Dart Pusher Extension
thingiverse
This is a part to install in your Nerf MA40 or any blaster with an identical pusher head geometry, to allow it to shoot half darts. Couple points about that: This part is designed to work with the Worker Flywheel Talon Magazine Adapter. You will need to do a great deal of cutting on that to get it to fit inside the MA40. Pretty much the entire front screw housing needs to be removed to get it to fit inside the MA40's mag well. Secondly, you will need to do some shell cutting on the MA40 itself, specifically you will need to cut away the ridged plastic that guides the pusher head. This part will otherwise not allow the pusher to fully retract, which will hold the pusher extension over the top of the magazine and block feeding. Third, the pusher head geometry on the extension may not work for your specific build. Without the guide cutouts on the plastic rib that you need to remove to install this part, your pusher may be angled somewhat to the left or right. If this is the case, the lower ridges on the pusher head may impact the magazine feed lips. If this happens, simply cut off the offending ridge. At least one ridge needs to be there to prevent the pusher head from pushing up out of the magazine, but I can't be certain which direction the pusher might trend toward on any random build, so you'll need to do some work on your end. Finally, you'll need to glue this part into place. If you want to remove it later non-destructively, use hot glue. If you do not intend to remove it, i recommend super gluing it in place with quality cyanoacrylate glue. I also highly recommend building a half-dart specific cage, motor, and wheel assembly. My build is a nominal full-dart build that i just use to fire half darts. It works, but it's FPS is somewhat inconsistent, and it's accuracy with any half darts aside from full-headed darts like cut down AF waffles or accufakes is unusable. AF Pros, Max Pro, worker darts etc WILL NOT BE USABLE. With all that said, this part is specifically designed such to minimize the print area you need in order to get a pusher that will fire half darts. This is NOT a full pusher replacement, and that comes with some downsides. The part is designed to snap over the pusher head and then be glued in place. I recommend upping your wall count when printing for extra rigidity.
